Happy Birthday Easton

My little man is one today. This year has gone by so fast. Easton has been are easiest from the start. We got pregnant with him with our very first round of fertility and my pregnancy was a dream. I went to the general Relief Society broadcast last year and while we were having dinner I was joking with two of my best friends that he would probably be late and they were telling my that I hadn't even dropped yet and that he still looked high. To our surprise my water broke at 1 the next morning, 3 weeks early. It was so funny. By the time Corbin and I got to the hospital at 3 it was gushing everywhere. As soon as I got into my room they checked me and I was already at a 4, so I got my epidural. Easton was born at 7:oo on the dot after about 10 good pushes. He weighed 5 lbs and 15 oz. the same as Elise. I was telling my friend that just got pregnant that having a boy is like falling in love with your husband all over again. It's amazing to me how as women we strive our whole lives to win the approval of or impress the men in our lives, whether it is our dads, or a boyfriend, or eventually our husbands, but then when you have a son you don't have to go to any great length to make him love or accept you. He already comes into the world totally in love with you. I love my little man. He just makes my heart soar and I am so grateful to a loving Heavenly Father for the opportunity to fall in love again. At one Easton has already taken a few steps. He also already says "mommy, da, Ella, Elise, and bye" and I thought I heard him say "Hi, dude", to the little boy I was babysitting today which is what we always say to him. He loves to take a bath and he loves to swing at the park. He also is a really good eater and sleeper. And I'm not the only girl in this house that is totally in love with him. Elise and Ella still can't get enough of him. In fact last night Elise told me that she wishes there were two of him. I couldn't agree more.
We celebrated Easton's birthday at the park on Saturday with some family and friends. It was windy and a little chilly, but we had so much fun. And as you can see, Easton loved his baseball cupcake.

Boys will be Boys

Okay I get it. Boys are different than girls. My sweet little girls would just sit in the middle of all their toys and play by themselves while I did whatever I had to get done. But then Easton came along and I don't know how many times a day I lift him off of the table and pull him off the stairs and get him unstuck of whatever he happens to be stuck in at the time. I haven't vacuumed my upstairs for months in fear that I won't be able to hear his crys for help when he falls from something. But look at that smile. How could you get mad at that?

Happy Birthday Beckham

Easton and Beckham are only 12 days apart. Trista and I walked almost every day of our pregnancies. I feel like they have a special bond because they were born so close. It was like Easton couldn't wait to come down and be with Beckham. We love you and miss you and hope you have the best 1st birthday ever.

Happy Birthday Pa Pa

Grandpa Smith turned 54 on Sunday. I know what you are thinking. He doesn't look a day over 40. And to think my husband has those same genes! The girls made him a pencil holder with their pictures on it and Corbin and I gave him a book titled, "Men of Valor". Elise also made him 3 cards. My kids absolutely love their "Pa Pa"! We hope you had a great day Dad and we love you too!

It's Potty Time

I was trying to put it off for as long as possible, but Ella came up to me yesterday with her diaper in her hand and said, "I don't want to wear this, I want to wear undies". So I have finally decided that it was time to potty train her or maybe she decided. I was hoping that we could wait until after we moved, but this is probably a good time. Anyways, she has already peed in her pants three times today, but on the positive side she has gone on the potty twice already and is very excited about getting m&m's as her reward. This morning as I was saying my morning prayers I asked for patience with her as we go on this adventure together. I hope it will be short. I have opted out of the toddler potty and pull-ups. Both of which I feel just pro long the process. Right now I am giving her a lot to drink and taking her to the potty every 30 minutes. I hope this works!
