Memorial Day

Okay by now you probably get the picture that we LOVE going to the Zoo. We've never lived near a great zoo and now we live by two. So we decided to hit the zoo on Memorial Day. Besides that the weather was a little chilly to go check out our new community pool and Corbin had appointments in the morning. This time we ate lunch at home first and I think it worked out better. By the time we got to the zoo at around 2 everyone else was leaving for the day. Our first stop is always the Giraffes. It' so great how you can get so up close to them and feed them crackers. The kids also loved the birds. This time they were really active and coming right up to us. Poor Ella took a pretty bad tumble on our way to see the tigers. I don't know if you can tell in the picture, but she has a pretty nice knot on her forehead now. We of course bought her some cotton candy to help her feel better. We also rode the carousel this time. Corbin does not enjoy rides that go in circles. He always passes on the Tea Cups at Disneyland, but he was really brave this time and went with Easton. I have to say that this carousel went really fast and I was ready for it to be over. We ended up leaving around 5 and Ella also got to choose were we went and ate dinner so we had a nice dinner out at Red Robin. All in all it was a great day. We got to see Corbin most of the day and I didn't have to cook!!! On a Patriotic note my mind did turn to my brother and two brother-in-laws throughout the day all of which are in the military. Thank you for all you do to protect our country. You truly are our Hero's and we love you!!!

Jaimee & Jordan's Wedding!

I wanted to post these pictures of Jordan and Jaimee's wedding for all our family in Utah that were not able to be there. It was such a blast being a part of their special day. I love Jaimee. She fits into our family so perfectly. Hope you enjoy all the pictures!

Love this...

I came across my Book of Mormon that I used when I was taking the missionary discussions 13 years ago (I can't believe it's been that long), and this was a quote by President Monson that I had written inside the front cover:

"You have a heritage; honor it.
You will meet sin; shun it.
You have the truth; live it.
You have a testimony; share it."

Good Deals

Our community had a neighborhood garage sale a couple of Saturdays ago and I think I am now officially addicted. I was just going with Amber to help her find a kitchen table, but how could I turn down these great deals? Can you just see Corbin rolling his eyes at me right now. LOL. Anyways, Elise has been telling me that she wants to be a pirate for Halloween this year and I found this girls pirate costume, size 6, for $2. Then I found a homemade Snow White dress for Ella for $3. I may have just knocked out Halloween for $5. It doesn't get any better than that. I also found this "Helllo Kitty", toaster for $3. Of course we did not need another toaster, but this one imprints Hello Kitty's face onto the toast. Too cute. In the picture of Ella she is sitting on a little chair I found for $4 and holding a Ariel music box I got for $.25, yes that's 25 cents. Those are normally $15 at Disneyland! I also found these custom made drapes for $5. I think I did pretty good and it was so much fun. We had to be home by 9, but I think we could have stayed out all day looking for good deals.

Mother's Day Weekend

My Mom drove in from Grand Junction on Saturday to spend Mother's Day with me. We had such a great weekend. On Saturday we attended a baptism that was so awesome. I love going to baptisms and leaving feeling so grateful to belong to the true church and having your cup filled up. It was so great. Sunday was a great day. Just to be able to spend the day with my Mom and my wonderful husband and our kids. It was perfect. I hope all you wonderful Mom's out there had a great day too.

When Grandpa comes to town

Corbin's Dad, Ryan, was here visiting for a few days last week and on Friday we got him all to ourselves. The girls loved having one on one time with him and I loved all the little projects that I got done while he was here. Since Corbin has been working so much it was so great to have Dad to help me get those little things done, like hanging curtains in our office and replacing child locks that Easton had broken. Ella and Grandpa painted while Elise was at school and when Elise got home and the little ones were napping, Elise and Grandpa made a castle bank together. We love you Grandpa!!!

Easton's new fav. place

Easton has a new favorite place to play...in the toy box. He can seriously entertain himself for at least 30 min. in there. Do you know how much I can get done in 30 min.?

Red Rocks

Okay so while I am writing this it is snowing outside. Yes, it is May 1st and it has been really coming down since about 8 this morning. When it's nice outside and you live in Colorado you have to get outside and enjoy the gorgeous scenery because it just changes over night. So yesterday Amber and I took the kids hiking at the Red Rocks. This is the same place we went to have our Christmas card picture taken and Elise has been asking to go back to have a picnic. So that's what we did. After we ate our lunch we walked along a trail that was right next to the creek. On the way back to the cars we stopped and put our feet in the freezing water. It was so nice to just sit there and enjoy our children and enjoy being outside.

Lunch with Grandma

My Mom came to visit again last weekend. It's been so nice having her closer. She's only about 4 hours away, so when she gets off of work on Friday she drives to our house and then goes home after church on Sunday. On Saturday we took the kids to the mall and had lunch and just walked around and hung out. It's so funny to see my Mom interact with my kids. She's so funny and they just love her so much. Saturday night my Mom watched the kids so that Corbin and I could go see a movie and have dinner. Corbin has been working 12 hour days 6 days a week, so it was so nice to have him all to myself. We had the best time together. On Sunday after my Mom left Ella was so sad and turned to me and said, "I don't want Grandma to go, I want to keep her."

Kite Festival

A couple of weekends ago our community held a kite festival. There were so many kites there. Amber and I took the older kids and left the little ones at home. It was a little crazy trying to get both Elise's and Ella's kite going. Once I got one up the other one would crash. Then Ella's ended up getting crossed with two other kites and Elise's ended up tearing. That pretty much ended our day there, but the girls had a lot of fun. We ended up having to trash their kites, but I did buy them nicer ones at Target that I think are going to hold up a little better.
